PL15 pressure transmitter in ceramic production
In ceramic production, glaze is used to finish the surface of most products. Excessive glazes from the spraying process are collected by means of a water curtain and fed into a treatment process. In the downstream plant sections, the remaining water is separated from the ceramic solids by a filter press. Complete separation can only be achieved if all filter cloths are fully functional.
The PL15 pressure sensor determines the holding pressure of the press, which provides information about the condition of the filter cloths. The customer can schedule maintenance precisely, ensuring efficient separation and reuse of water and ceramics.
No deposits, no collision-related failures
RELIUS Farbenwerke GmbH is Europe’s leading manufacturer of paints and varnishes. The paints are stored in large tanks and dispensed using a pigging system. To achieve this, the pig is pushed by water from the launching station to the receiving station at the filling plant. Once the filling process is completed, the pig is pushed back to the launching station by compressed air, pressing the rinsing water out of the pipe. The exact position of the pig in the launching and receiving stations is determined using pressure sensors. As there is only little space between the sensor and the pig, they are in contact now and then.
Less installation space and fewer measuring points required
The manufacturer ABEL GmbH specializes in highly efficient diaphragm pumps suitable for abrasive and aggressive media, such as those encountered in the mining sector. The sensors are used to continuously monitor the pressure and temperature of the hydraulic fluid and of the medium being pumped in order to prevent overheating or overload of the pump.
“We develop our pumps with the aim of offering our customers pumps with maximum reliability and minimal space requirements.”
Increase precision, reduce measuring points
For more than 30 years, EnviroFALK GmbH has been designing and manufacturing water treatment systems for a wide range of industries worldwide.
The company uses the PL15 pressure sensor in various applications, including in a multi-stage filtration system. In the future, the sensor will also be used for hydrostatic level measurement in various tank applications, which will reduce the variety of types in the system as well as the storage costs.
Pump control in the slurry tanker
The traditional company Landmaschinen Wienhoff GmbH has been active in agricultural machinery manufacturing for over 90 years, specializing in the production and trade of slurry tankers and their distribution technology.
To fill the slurry tanker at the farm, the slurry is sucked in using a vacuum and pumped into the tank. The vacuum level must be closely monitored to avoid cavitation and to protect the pump from running dry.
In the past, analog gauges were used to monitor pressure, and the pump was controlled manually. Now, the PL1504 sensor monitors pressure and transmits the values digitally to the control system, which automatically adjusts the pump. This digital data transmission enhances machine protection and allows for remote diagnostics, helping to reduce downtime during servicing.
Once in the field, the slurry is pumped from the tank to the application attachment, where it is evenly distributed. To maintain a consistent application rate and uniform distribution, the PL1504 monitors line pressure and ensures a stable minimum pressure.
