IO-Link enabled PL15 provides process transparency

With IO-Link, process sensors have the ability to transmit multiple sensor values. Via IO-Link, the PL15 family can provide:

  • Pressure and temperature value over a single wire
  • High measurement resolution without scaling
  • Current device status for troubleshooting
  • Internal device temperature of the sensor
  • Remote parameterization and automatic device replacement

Data structure and process values for PL15

Device status and possible causes
0 Device is OK Sensor is operating normally
1 Maintence required Flash sequence active (write/reading to/from sensor)
2 Out of specification
  • Process Pressure over/under run (≥ 105 %VMR* or ≤ -5 %VMR*)
  • Process Temperature over/under run (≥ 115°C / 239°F or ≤ -30°C / -22°F) 
  • Device Temperature range exceeded or below limits (≥ 125°C / 257°F or ≤ -25°C / -13°F)
3 Functional check
  • Process Temperature range is critically exceeded or below limits (≥ 125°C / 257°F or ≤ -35°C / -31°F)
  • Parameter setting error
  • Measurement error
4 Failure Hardware failure, replace unit

*VMR = final value of the measuring range
