Three single hall effect measuring cells are stacked together orthogonally to form a complete measuring cell in 3 dimensions. Independently, each sensor is only sensitive to a single component of the magnetic field vector. When used together, the sensor is able to detect the complete magnetic flux density in all 3 dimensions.
3D-hall measuring cells can measure magnetic fields longer than the sensor’s length accurately and reliably, increasing the measuring range by approximately 40%. Continuous process values are available along the measuring range.
