OGD laser distance sensor: Parameterization via software or display

The following will guide you through key programming steps for the OGD sensors. We highlight the features used most often here. Refer to the Operating Instructions manual and the Info Card found under the “Downloads” tab at the product datasheet page for more details on programming the sensors and other features.

moneo|configure software

moneo | configure is a user-friendly software package that enables easy programming and visualization of all ifm IO-Link enabled sensors (V1.0 and V1.1) as well as other manufacturers' IO-Link enabled sensors (V1.1).  The software can be downloaded here: moneo | configure.

Display and indications

The OGD sensor diaplays distance to target in the units of measure set in the configuration menu.

  Element Description
1 3 x LED green Active LED indication display unit of measure (cm, mm, inch).
2 1 x LED green When lit, LED indicates that power is applied.
3 1 x LED orange Indication of switching status of output 1; lights when output is ON.
4 1 x LED orange Indication of switching status of output 2; lights when output is ON.
5 Programming button [ENTER] Enters the programming menu and confirms the parameter setting value.
6 Programming button “up” Selects parameters and changes parameter values; hold to scroll and tap to increment.
7 Programming button “down” Selects parameters and changes parameter values; hold to scroll and tap to increment.
8 3-digit LED display Indicates measured distance, parameters and parameter values; red and green.

 

General use of pushbuttons
1 Press Enter (E) once to enter programming mode.
2 Press Up or Down arrows (U/D) to view parameters or additional menus.
3 To change setting, press Enter (E) and then Up or Down arrows to toggle through options.
4 When desired value is reached, press Enter (E) to confirm the setting.

 

Change units of measure
1 Press E to enter programming mode.
2 Press D until “EF” extended functions is displayed. Press E to confirm.
3 Press D until “uni” is displayed. Press E to confirm.
4 Press U/D to change to the desired units of measure is displayed.
5 Press E to confirm. After 15 seconds, the sensor returns to normal run mode.
