Inclination sensors: Device configuration

Device configuration

For accurate and precise results, the coordinate system of the sensor must match the coordinate system of the object. This is most easily accomplished by mounting the sensor on a flat surface of the object. However, sometimes this is not possible. In these cases, the sensor has a teach function to align the two coordinate systems.

The image below illustrates a case where the sensor cannot be mounted in the same plane as the object.

  1. Bring the object into a known horizontal position.
  2. Using moneo | configure  programming software or IO-Link, set the “Set teach X Y Z” command.

The coordinate system of the sensor now matches that of object and all measured values are in relation to the object’s horizontal position.
