Installation Guidelines for Oils and Coolants

To ensure the proper seal between the sensor and the ecolink cordset, please follow the following guidelines.

Attachment instructions

  1. The arrow on the connector head indicates the A-coded keyway. Align this arrow with the key on the sensor.
  2. Tighten the coupling nut to a tightening torque from 0.6 Nm (hand tight) to 1.5 Nm with a torque wrench.  Do not overtighten.
  3. In the case of extrememly harsh enviornment, use a 14 mm wrench to tightenten one more notch.

Removal instructions

Because of the lock-in-place coupling nut, the connection remains tight permanently.  To remove the cordset, push the connector against the sensor while turning the coupling nut.

Mounting tool

Especially when attaching cordsets to wiring blocks where the mating connectors are close together, ifm designed a tool to make it easy. Part number E12078 is designed with a 14 mm wrench flat and an open tube to run the cable through. Tightenng and loosening of the coupling nut can be achieved even in tight spaces.
