Is the ecomatDisplay 4.3" approved for use with on highway machines?

Yes, all device variants have E1 approval from the Federal Motor Transport Authority.

Can I create just one version of my application program for both USB and Ethernet variant?

Both device variants can be loaded with the same CODESYS application. The same applies to the backup and re-store function.

Are the devices suitable for outdoor use?

Like all ecomat displays, the 4.3" versions are also suitable for outdoor use. They have protection class IP65 / IP67, a high temperature range and are resistant to vibrations. In addition, the devices have a high UV resistance, so that nothing stands in the way of outdoor use.

Do you need special software tools to parameterize the devices?

The parameters can be set without special tools via the setup menu in the device (e.g. IP address). Programming can be done via CODESYS 3.5 or QT. The software can be downloaded free of charge from ifm.com.

Do you need special licenses to use all functions (e.g. OPC UA, Ethernet/IP) on the device?

All licenses for communication and CODESYS are pre-installed on the devices by default.

Is there a special memory area where data must be stored?

No, the memory area of the device can be used freely - including creating a folder structure and much more.

What must be considered with regard to assembly?

The device can be mounted to standard RAM mounts or flush mounted using the panel mount bracket.

Does the device have onboard I/O’s?

No, IO modules are required to control I/Os, such as the ioControl modules CR2040 or CR2050 .

Is it possible to connect Analogue or Ethernet cameras to the device?

Showing a camera image is not possible. If a camera connection is required, other ecomat displays such as the CR1151 can be used.

Besides, the display features the increased EMC resistance for which ifm is renowned and has E1 type approval, so that nothing prevents its use in road traffic.

With a powerful dual-core 1.4 GHz processor and low energy consumption of only 5 to 8 watts, the 4.3" ecomatDisplay is ideally equipped for the future.
