O6 miniature photoelectric sensor offers best-in-class optical performance
At 35 x 13 x 21 mm industry standard size, the O6 plastic sensor provides a precise light spot with minimal corona to reduce the possibility of crosstalk and predamping. It is ideal for detecting small targets.
Background suppression: 200 mm
Diffuse: 600 mm
Polarized retroreflective: 5 m
Through beam: 10 m
O6 Wetline provides reliable position sensing in harsh environments
The robust 316 stainless steel industry standard housing are used in harsh industrial applications as well as food and beverage applications. The sensor automatically adjusts its gain to changing environmental plant conditions such as water and steam.
Background suppression: 200 mm
Diffuse: 500 mm
Polarized retroreflective: 5 m
Through beam: 10 m
Measuring light curtains detect an object's shape, size, location and orientation within a specific area
The light curtains operate similarly to photoelectric through-beam sensors. They consist of transmitters and receivers aligned in a grid format. Multiple beams of infrared light are transmitted across a space to a mechanically aligned receivers. These light curtains are not rated for safety applications. Long ranges, precise light spots, various housing sizes

Photoelectric sensors have been a part of ifm’s portfolio since 1980. Over the years, our products have become smaller yet more powerful and precise. Versions are available with visible red and infrared light sources for general applications and laser light sources when more precision is required. Technologies include through-beam, retroreflective, diffuse and background suppression.

Explore options for error proofing, conveying, high pressure cleaning, etc. by visiting our Search by application page for photoelectric sensors. For applications requiring distance measurement, explore options here.

Many of our photoelectric sensors are IO-Link enabled and setup is achieved in a few minutes using the moneo | configure software on a laptop or the moneo | blue app that runs on a mobile device.
