Background suppression and ultrasonic sensors are lower-cost alternatives for distance measurement by having shorter ranges. Traditional time-of-flight systems offer an improved level of performance but are much higher in cost. ifm’s O1D sensor combines the advantages of these systems: a 10 m range at an affordable price.
