TP temperature plug: IO-Link advantages for TSM clamp-on RTD

The resistance values of the TSM clamp-on temperature RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) can be analyzed using the TP temperature plug, which converts readings from PT1000 elements into analog or IO-Link signals.

The temperature plug can be connected directly or via a connecting cable, allowing the electronics to be positioned away from the pipe’s high heat. This protects them from thermal stress, enhancing the system's durability and reliability.

When connected to the measuring element, the temperature plug automatically recognizes it. No further adjustments are needed if the factory-set measuring range scaling meets the application requirements. However, you can modify the scaling via IO-Link if necessary.

With IO-Link, the TSM and TP can provide:

A true digital signal of the process values improves accuracy and resolution due to no A/D conversion losses.

Over IO-Link, the temperature transmitter's accuracy is ± 0.1 K versus an analog output in which ±0.1% of the measuring span needs to be added to the overall accuracy.

Automatic device replacement capabilities.

Calibration parameters are available for adjustments.
