TSM clamp-on RTD and TP temperature plug: Installation guidelines

Thank you for your purchase of a TSM clamp-on RTD or TP temperature plug. On the following pages, you will find information to help you install and program the sensors as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

Should you need additional support, feel free to contact our service center at 800-441-8246 and speak to one of our application engineers.

TSM surface-mount RTD mechanical installation

The TSM temperature sensor can be attached to an existing pipeline at any time without interrupting the ongoing process. Simply place the sensor on the pipe, secure it with the clamp, and it's ready for use.

For optimal attachment, the TSM sensor requires a clean, grease-free, and smooth contact surface that is slightly larger than the sensor itself. No thermal paste is needed.

  1. Open the Tri-Clamp fitting and place the sensor on the pipe.
  2. Close the fitting and tighten the screw with the wing nut by hand (max. 3 Nm). Check the correct position of the seal.

Connecting the TP temperature plug to an RTD temperature probe

The TP temperature transmitter is installed easily using two quick-disconnect M12 cables: one for connecting the temperature sensor and one for power and output signals

The TP temperature plug minimizes installation complexity with two standard M12 connections compared to traditional head or DIN rail transmitters. This design simplifies setup and eliminates potential errors from cable clamps.
