Inductive sensors monitor wheel rotation and ground speed

An inductive sensor detects a metal target on a rotating wheel and outputs a digital signal with each signal pulse corresponding to a rotation or a segment of a rotation. The evaluation unit counts the pulses and converts them into rotational speed from which ground speed can be calculated.
