PI series sanitary pressure and level sensor with display
The PI1 series sanitary pressure sensor from ifm has improved diagnostics and performance. The engine of the PI pressure sensor is a ceramic capacitive measuring cell, which is the most robust pressure measurement technology on the market. ifm has used this technology for many years to solve common challenges in the Food and Beverage industry which include reducing mechanical failures due to overpressure or handling, increasing food safety with a direct pressure measurement that does not require fill fluid, and improving service life with ceramic material that doesn’t fatigue.
Ensure accurate tank level and line pressure measurements
Improved availability and durability:
Featuring robust ceramic cell technology, the PI transmitter is resistant to overpressure, abrasion, and corrosion, ensuring long-lasting performance and minimal downtime.
Direct pressure measurement for better product quality:
The ceramic cell technology eliminates the need for fragile metal diaphragms, reducing the risk of damage and fluid leakage, thus enhancing product quality. The transmitter also has an integrated diagnostic function that continuously monitors the measuring cell status for maximum safety and confidence in measurements.
Optimized machine performance:
A 32-bit processor with a 20,000-step digital process outperforms high-performing 14-bit analog systems, delivering precise pressure and level measurements unaffected by foam or turbulence. Through direct digital IO-Link communication with the microcontroller, the PI1 provides both pressure and temperature values over a single wire, reducing wiring, installation effort, and the need for additional instruments.
Minimized downtime:
Designed with IP69K protection, the transmitter is perfect for washdown and CIP/SIP processes. It provides resistance against moisture ingress and overheating, with a continuous media temperature rating of up to 150°C.
