Three ifm products win coveted design award

2021/11/15

ifm has three reasons to celebrate at this year's German Design Awards. The LI level sensor, the multi-cover puck and the TCC temperature sensor are awarded coveted design prizes.

This year, the German Design Award celebrates its tenth anniversary. The presentation of the winners on this occasion is themed "How designers think". The German Design Award is the international premium prize of the German Design Council and is one of the most recognised design awards worldwide. Since its inception, 375 of the coveted "Gold" awards have already been presented at the German Design Award in its first ten years from among around 20,000 submissions from 87 countries.

The LI level sensor

Products from ifm scored three times over in the Industry category. The LI level sensor, which reliably monitors the limit levels of tanks and containers, is awarded the "Winner" prize. Water, oils, coolants and their temperature are measured in contact with the medium. An inductive button allows the user to interact with the sensor. The 360° degree circumferential LED provides information about the level of the media in the tanks. Its design offers optimum drainage and cleaning properties. The LI contributes to the economic and sustainable operation of the plant while adhering to the highest design and precision standards.

The multi-cover puck

The jury awarded an "Excellent Product Design" to the E12725 - multi-cover puck, which helps to clearly indicate valve positions that would otherwise remain invisible. It gives the user information about the plant to facilitate its control while also supporting its economic and ecological operation. Thanks to the high degree of customisation of the patented indicating system and the easy handling during assembly, a reduction of both components and complexity is achieved befitting the challenges of an automated plant.

The TCC temperature sensor

The TCC temperature sensor, which is used in sensitive processes such as the food industry, received a "Special Mention". The clearly visible 3-colour signalling element ensures clear indication of the instrument status. The TCC independently detects and signals drifts digitally and visually. In this way, the sensor contributes to increased quality assurance between two calibration points. Thanks to its clear design, ideal cleaning features and high-quality materials, it is both an ecological and economical solution.

The presentation of the coveted awards will take place next February. For more information on the award-winning products, please visit www.ifm.com.
