Grégoire – Using inclination sensor technology for harvesters

Mobile machines
Agricultural and forestry machines
Food industry
Monitoring and maintenance
Video report

This important safety element is essential for the machines since the inclination sensors allow them to maintain perfect flatness. No matter how the slope or terrain changes, the advantages of this technology are that a high harvest quality and user safety can be ensured because whatever the conditions are, the machine’s horizontal alignment is maintained. Thus, the harvesting machine can go a little faster, saving work hours. The inclination sensors which are used are ifm’s JD2110 IMU and ifm’s EC2045 inclinometer. The advantage of the Inertial Measurement Unit is that it has a CANopen interface which ensures an easy handling.
