The operating principle of the technology is based on the time-of-flight principle: The scene to be measured is illuminated with modulated and invisible infrared light. The reflected light then hits the sensor. Every pixel determines the distance to the scene due to the phase shift between transmitted and received signal. The operator is warned by means of an optical and acoustic signal.
