IO-Link - power supply

  • Diagnosis of whether and which fuses have tripped
  • Diagnosis of the reason for triggering
  • Decentralized resetting of triggered current paths
  • Current and voltage measurement

An IO-Link power supply provides an IO-link device with the voltage required to both operate the device and transmit data for diagnostics and communication capabilities. IO-Link systems typically use 24V DC power.

Key aspects of IO-Link power supplies

IO-Link power supplies:

  • Are designed for easy installation
  • Often use electronic fuses to prevent power overloads
  • Use standard three-cable wiring

Features of IO-Link power supply models from ifm

IO-Link power supply models from ifm feature:

  • High protection class (IP67) for field installation with no control cabinet necessary
  • Electronic fuses that monitor and shut down defective output circuits
  • Adjustable output voltages that enable each current to be set separately

IO-Link power supply models use various connectors:

  • All models have a 7/8” connector to supply the voltage to the power supply.
  • All models have a standard M12 connector for IO-Link connection
  • Various models have L-coded M12 connectors or A-coded M12 connectors for output voltage

Modern, decentralised control components must be supplied with 24V DC voltage.

We offer solutions for installation in a central control cabinet, as well as components that can be installed directly in the field without a control cabinet.

The one thing all these solutions have in common is the use of an IO-Link interface.
This interface can be used to retrieve important diagnostic information, such as whether and which fuses have been tripped, or to switch specific system components on and off via the controller.
