Note on portable batteries

Some of the equipment supplied by ifm contains portable batteries of general use that are installed permanently for technical reasons. These batteries are generally not removable by end users, but can be removed in an appropriate way by independent professionals.

In certain applications, removal is not technically possible as continuity of power supply is necessary for the function of the product. This exemption is provided for in Article 11(3) of the Regulation concerning batteries.

Other ifm equipment contains removable batteries. The crossed-out dustbin symbol on the battery indicates that batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste. Waste batteries must be collected in accordance with legal requirements. Where necessary, our recycling partner’s service for collection can be contacted at ifm@envenance.com for this purpose. Recovery is conducted in a compliant manner and is free of charge. We reserve the right to charge incurring administration or logistics costs in individual cases.

Information on packaging

Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR) establishes requirements for packaging and obligations for various economic operators throughout the supply and distribution chain. The role assumed by a legal entity depends on the specific packaging concerned and the particular supply and distribution arrangement. Accordingly, an ifm entity may assume different roles under the PPWR depending on the packaging, distribution channel, and Member State involved. These roles may include, in particular, those of manufacturer, importer, supplier, distributor, final distributor, or producer within the framework of extended producer responsibility (EPR). A legal entity may simultaneously assume multiple roles. The specific role assignment must be determined on a case-by-case basis. The identification of the ifm entity responsible for a packaging item is based on the product labelling and the producer information provided for the packaged product. The ifm entity identified as the producer of the product is also identified as the manufacturer of the associated packaging. Irrespective of its specific role, ifm continuously strives to ensure compliance with the applicable PPWR requirements applicable to the respective packaging, particularly with regard to packaging design, recyclability, labelling, and extended producer responsibility.

Where required, we have established a take-back service. You may use this service by submitting a request via the button below. Our recycling partner, envenance GmbH, will contact you to arrange a collection date. Recovery and treatment of the returned packaging will be carried out in accordance with applicable requirements and is free of charge. We reserve the right to charge any administrative expenses or other additional costs incurred in individual cases.

By submitting a take-back request, the customer fully accepts the applicable terms and conditions. These terms and conditions can be viewed and downloaded (see right-hand side).
