ioControl: I/O modules – decentralised connection to the controller

Robust I/O modules with M12 CR2042 and DEUTSCH CR2052

Decentralised evaluation of sensor signals and direct control of actuators and valves – this is what ioControl is all about. The decentralised I/O module is installed away from the controller on remote machine parts right where the signals are generated. Digital and analogue sensors and actuators are connected to the mobile controller (e.g. ecomatController). Data output and parameter setting of the device functions are handled reliably via a CAN interface. While sensors and actuators are connected simply and with maximum efficiency using DEUTSCH or M12 connectors, depending on the version, the CAN bus is integrated using pre-assembled IP67 AMP connectors.

Purely an I/O module? No, ioControl can do much more. In addition to being used as CANopen participants for setting parameters, ioControl modules can also be used as mini controllers programmed via CODESYS for use in the field.

ioControl modules are characterised by their robust design and are shock and vibration resistant. They can therefore withstand even the most adverse conditions and are ideally suited for use in mobile machines. Use in road traffic? No problem! All I/O modules have E1-type approval and can be used in road traffic.

ioControl details

ioControl product benefits

Controller inside

ioControl modules have an integrated controller and can therefore be used as stand-alone CODESYS-programmable controllers.

Simple configuration

The I/O modules have a display and 3 function keys to simplify parameter setting.

Flexible

All the module’s inputs and outputs are freely configurable for maximum flexibility.

Robust

With a robust design and high protection rating (IP 65 / IP 67), the
ioControl modules are ideally suited for use in harsh environments.

System overview

ioControl makes it simple to connect digital and analogue sensors and actuators remotely from the controller. Communication takes place almost as if by magic thanks to full CANopen support.

All inputs and outputs of the ioControl modules can be configured and therefore offer maximum flexibility. With regard to inputs, a choice is offered between binary (binary-high or binary-low), frequency or analogue inputs. The analogue inputs can be used either as a current input (0...20 mA), as a voltage input (0...10 V / 0...32 V), as a resistance input (16...30,000 Ω) or as a ratiometric input (0...1,000 in relation to the supply voltage). An integrated two-colour LED display and an integrated keypad are available for simple and convenient device configuration and for displaying the most important system messages.

Even though it can be used decentrally, the ioControl is by no means out on its own. Equipped with two CAN interfaces, it communicates effortlessly with connected modules, controllers, displays and the engine controller.

ioControl modules also work well as freely programmable mini controllers. Communication takes place via CANopen or J1939. Convenient programming with CODESYS enables straightforward and clear development of the application software. Predefined libraries are also available, reducing the time required for programming.
