What is the purpose of ‘raw data analysis’?

Automatic analysis of raw vibration data from VSE diagnostic electronics, IO-Link vibration sensor VVB (=BLOB) or moneo raw data export . The report includes a batch analysis based on the machine specifications for the respective application and looks for patterns – such as unbalance – as well as the respective energy levels of these patterns. This function is primarily designed for standard machinery, such as centrifugal pumps, fans, electric motors, vacuum pumps and separators. However, it may also contain useful information for other types of machine.

What do ‘pattern score’ and ‘diagnostic score’ mean?

The pattern score indicates how clearly a particular pattern is discernible in the signal. Machine-specific information, such as the speed, is required for the calculation. Indicators such as “ overall asset condition ” do not have a pattern score, as they assess the system’s overall vibrational energy. The diagnostic score describes how pronounced a pattern is and how much energy is present in the corresponding frequency range. For machines with high baseline energy consumption, the diagnostic score may therefore reach elevated values even when the machine is still operating normally – for example, compressors.

What information is required for the report?

The exact engine speed at the time the measurement was taken is very important. Any further details about the machine can improve the calculation, as they are taken into account when weighting the various scores. The ‘signal sanity check’ section indicates whether the signal and machine speed are plausible.
