Are the touch sensors FDA compliant?

If the existing seal is replaced by the optionally available seal E12840 , the KTE (front) is compliant with FDA.

What’s new compared to the previous generation?

The new KTE touch sensors have a more robust housing and are absolutely ingress-resistant and yet very flexible thanks to the interchangeable symbol discs. The symbol discs are easy to replace irrespective of the symbol or material. Up to 5 colours can be triggered via 2 digital inputs even without IO-Link. The sensitivity of the sensors can be adjusted to damp or dirty environments.

What do I need to consider when mounting the sensor?

The symbol discs are not included and must be ordered separately. The stainless steel symbol discs also fit on the plastic KTEs, however, the sensor adjustments were made based on the characteristics of equivalent materials. In humid environments, the sensor should be used with a symbol disc of the same material. The KTE101 sensor is supplied with a transparent symbol disc and various stickers. With this product, the orientation of the connector is not fixed. If the nut is too tight to be opened by hand, it can also be loosened with a size-27 open-end wrench:

Clicking on touch sensor 2 and 3 sets their output to control a colour change of touch sensor 1. Clicking on “Master sensor” 1 overwrites the signals present at the inputs.
