Using the one-button teach function

A highlight of the O2I: With just one push of a button, the sensor automatically sets focus, exposure and the type of code to be recorded. Applications with a barcode or 2-D code can also be taught-in quickly using the teach button. This saves time and money.
The preset device configuration can be changed with a user-friendly smartphone app.

1D and 2D codes in a single application

The Vision Assistant's auto-find code function independently recognizes several different codes in one image. Find out how you can then easily assign these to logics in the Vision Assistant.

Adjusting for varying lighting conditions

The adjustable exposure time enables reliable code reading even with changing ambient conditions. An integrated switchable lighting with polarizing filter ensures shiny surfaces, e.g. B. metal, for sufficient contrasts to read the codes reliably. Find out how you can automatically integrate the lighting function into code recognition.

Working with regions of interest (ROI)

The creation of ROI around each code makes it possible, for example, to recognize which code (of several) is not in the image field of the sensor - and is thus declared as missing.

Logic layer: Verifying code content

The model and pin events are assigned to the outputs in the output logic. The data can then be transferred to a controller (PLC / PC).

Logic layer: Verifying code orientation

Configuring the logic modules to evaluate the rotational position of the code to be read and to switch outputs according to the angle.

Logic layer: Verifying code presence

The presetting of the output logic is already configured so that a switching output reports the presence of a code.

Logic layer: Verifying code quality

In this video we demonstrate how you configure function blocks to evaluate the overall quality of the code and to activate the switching output when a threshold value is exceeded or not reached.

Logic layer: Replicating and replacing devices

The ifm Vision Assistant offers logic modules that compare the content of read codes with setpoints. This means that the use of hand scanners is no longer necessary in many applications.

Logic layer: Verifying code placement

The current x- and y-axis position of the code can be evaluated using logic modules and its exact position in the image field can be determined and monitored.

Feature presentation: ROI check

Predictive maintenance made easy. Define a warning zone and receive a message when the code reaches the edge of the ROIs.

Feature presentation: Real Time Streaming Protocol

The real-time streaming protocol allows the live image of the sensor to be transmitted to a network media player.

Feature presentation: Reference image

Saving a reference image makes it easier to align the ROIs.

Feature presentation: Trigger modes

We explain the evaluation options that the ifm Vision Assistant offers when you use a 2nd trigger sensor.
