The challenge
When operating heavy mobile machines, operators must comply with all current safety regulations to ensure safe operation. This is also highly important for liability reasons. As safety regulations change on a regular basis, it is particularly important that the safety systems are flexible so that they can be adapted to the requirements at any time. All components in the systems, e.g. sensors, controls or user interface displays, must be suitable for the difficult environmental conditions in which mobile machines are used.
High or low temperatures, dirt, moisture and vibrations must not impair the function of the components. In addition, the display and control units must meet the high requirements associated with the operation of a mobile machine. The company was looking for a supplier offering high-quality and durable products in accordance with the requirements, but who at the same time also had extensive know-how in this field.
The solution – why ifm?
The company conducted an extensive field test over twelve months, in order to find an appropriate hardware partner for newly planned systems.
