Stack light | 20-segment lamp setup for DV29xx tower light
The DV29xx, ifm’s IO-Link enabled 20-segment signal lamp, comes with a standard 4-pin M12 connector. With 20 individually controllable LEDs, this stack light offers a particularly high degree of flexibility. Like the 5-segment stack lights, these segments can be combined into groups, providing 1...5 segment displays. It can be configured as a bar graph display to show analog values, for example as a level indicator on tanks or silos that can be seen from afar. The integrated IO-Link interface of these light towers makes it easy for end user to set the right configuration.

4 IO-Link
When connected to an IO-Link master, two operating modes can be set using the parameter "Operating mode."
Signal light mode (factory default)
Each segment can be configured using ifm’s moneo | configure software or acyclic IO-Link parameterization. Specify:
- Number of LEDs per segment
- Number of segments
- Space between segments
- Segment color
- Flashing frequency of segment
- Brightness of LEDs
Using the cyclic process data output, end user can independently control each segment on/off and select which preference bank color to display (see FAQ #6 for more info on user bank preference).
Level meter mode
During operation, the controller sends an analog value (range from 0-100%) to the device output process data to display the current level in the system.
Each LED can be individually configured via ifm’s moneo | configure software or acyclic IO-Link parameterization. Specify:
- Direction of the level display
- Color of each LED
- Specific threshold value to control each LED
- Flashing pattern of each LED
- Brightness of the LEDs
Using the IO-Link process data output, the end user can send an analog value from 0 - 100% to change the light tower visual indication. The transmitted analog value from 0…100% is signaled accordingly.
Each individual LED can be turned on/off via the current analog value.
