The factory of the future demands higher flexibility and connectivity in order to respond to the increased requirements regarding shorter product life cycles and a wealth of variants. ifm has developed various solutions for flexible and climate-neutral production for manufacturers of special-purpose machines, robotics, assembly and handling systems as well as customers from the metal processing and automotive industries.

Intelligent position sensors in miniature design enable use in applications with limited space and precisely detect the smallest objects. Thanks to IO-Link, distance measurement and limit switching can be realised with only one device; in addition, extensive functions and information can be called up.

The final quality of a product is determined by the greatest equivalence possible between specification and implementation in each individual production step. The ifm sensors for inline quality control reliably and precisely detect whether components, installation procedures, grooves or bore holes deviate from the target status. This also includes the precise dosing of adhesives and sealants.

Our contribution to climate-neutral production: Increase of energy efficiency by means of leakage monitoring and precise consumption measurement of compressed air and establishing a comprehensive energy management system.

Sensor data are converted into useful information and can be made available both in the controller and the cloud via the so-called Y-path. IO-Link is used for the intelligent networking of sensors.

Are you interested? If you ask yourself how to implement the smart factory, the answer is: with the help of intelligent sensors, networked systems and intuitive software.
