Installation guidelines

The following information provides general information for installation. Please refer to the operating instructions for more details.

Should you need additional support, feel free to contact our service center at 888-704-0702 and speak to one of our applications engineers.

Mechanical installation

The actuator of both RFID and magnetically coded safety switches can be recognized from all three directions. Align the arrows of both sensor and actuator on a flat surface and secure.

According to EN ISO 14119, the actuator must be fastened such that it is immovable. Safety screws (M4 x 18 mm length or longer) with one-way heads should be used and tightened to 0.8…2 Nm torque.

After mounting, insert the supplied protective caps to further enhance tamper resistance.

When installing multiple sensors next to each other, a minimum clearance of 50mm in each direction must be maintained

Switch on/switch off graphs

The image below indicates the sensor activation areas as the actuator approaches.

Switch on area is indicated in green and the limit range is indicated in yellow.

1. Operating area; 2. Switch-on distance; 3. Limit range; 4. Safe switch-off distance

LED indications for RFID door switches

Operations of the switch can be divided into 4 states.

Actuator outside limit range

  • Voltage is applied
  • Inputs are active
  • Outputs are deactivated
LED indication for MN7 when actuator is outside the limit range. Input and power LEDs are on and the others are off.

Actuator enters operating zone

  • Outputs are activated
LED indication for MN7 when actuator is inside the activation range. All LEDs are on.

Actuator enters limit range zone

  • Still within the actuating area
  • Outputs remain active
LED indication for MN7 when actuator is inside the limit range. All LEDs are on and the activation LED is blinking orange.

Actuator leaves limit range zone

  • Outputs are deactivated
LED indication for MN7 when actuator leaves the limit range. Input and power LEDs are on and the others are off.
