Ethernet camera with HD resolution and real-time output

Ethernet cameras are essential for difficult-to-maneuver vehicles, enhancing visual detection of vehicle surroundings, especially on highly frequented construction sites where small monitors with poor resolution fall short. This new generation of Ethernet cameras features easy parameter setting through the ifm Vision Assistant. They are compatible with dialogue modules with graphics capabilities and common industrial PCs, making them an essential upgrade for safety and efficiency in demanding environments.

Camera system for mobile machines and automation technology:

  • Angle of aperture up to 180 degrees
  • HD resolution up to 1280 x 960 pixels
  • Pin-sharp images with high depth of field
  • Low latency, video stream transmission via H.264 or MJPEG
  • Encapsulated, weather-proof housing with IP 67 / IP 69K rating
  • High shock and vibration resistance

Features and benefits

Quick configuration and real-time monitoring

The Ethernet cameras come preset and only need to be adapted to the existing network infrastructure. This is easily accomplished using the ifm Vision Assistant for Windows, which also features a live view to directly check and adjust the image settings.

The cameras offer several presets, allowing individual settings for resolution, image zone, frame rate, bit rate, and horizontal and vertical image mirroring. These settings are saved in the camera and can be activated as needed, such as enabling the mirror function for reversing.

Easy scalability and flexibility

If four camera images are to be displayed on one screen instead of one, the resolution of each camera can be reduced in real-time. This reduces the network load and eliminates the need for the dialogue module to recalculate the stream.

To extend the camera system on a machine, simply connect another Ethernet camera via the switch and save the data in the dialogue module. When using the ifm Vision Assistant,, the live image can also be displayed on any industrial PC with a Windows operating system.

Versatile connectivity and adapatability

The new Ethernet cameras feature a fast Ethernet interface for communication. Unlike analog camera systems, the camera image can be displayed on any number of displays via an Ethernet switch. Additionally, multiple cameras can be connected to a single display or industrial PC using this method. Voltage can be directly supplied by the vehicle battery, as the camera is protected against both overvoltage and undervoltage.

Reliable performance in demanding environments

With its black housing made of anodized aluminium and a specially hardened lens, the camera is perfectly suited for use in harsh environments. It was developed for use in mobile machines and meets the corresponding requirements. Further enhancing its robustness, the camera boasts protection ratings of IP 67 and IP 69K, along with high vibration and shock resistance, making it a complete solution for demanding conditions.
