Hannover Messe USA, co-located with the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) took place September 10-15 in Chicago, IL. This year's show set a new all-time record from previous Hannover Messe Expos with 129,400 visitors, featuring 1.4 million sq. ft. of exhibit space, and represented 2,563 exhibiting companies.
ifm's presence was well positioned within the "digital factory" section and featured our latest products designed to provide real-time information helping manufacturers improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Manufacturers were interested in real-time track and trace, predictive maintenance, quality control, and the meaning of the "Y" path. Customers from a broad spectrum of markets, such as UTC (interested in RFID track and trace), Boeing (O3D for robotic palletizers), Dymax (O3D for integration in adhesive systems), Amazon (O3D for material handling), and CNH (Smart Observer projects) to name a few, engaged in high-level discussions that will lead to future meetings.
Crowds gathered and had fun exploring the virtual factory using the Augmented Reality application on our Zen-phones.
Over the course of the show, it became clear that the pace of digitization and its integration within the industrial marketplace is rapidly increasing, and that our products and people will make major contributions in this transformation.
This is ifmnovation – close to our customers – in the US!
