ifm sensors contribute to sustainability
In our products, we place particular emphasis on environmentally friendly and energy-efficient design to minimise negative impacts. Both environmental and social aspects are therefore taken into account along the supply chain. High quality and the associated durability of ifm products contribute to a conscious and sustainable consumption of resources. In addition to ongoing improvements with regard to sustainability-relevant aspects, we also aim to promote the sustainability activities of our customers through the sale of our solutions. Efficient process design through the use of ifm products is a representative example of this. The optimised use of resources - such as reducing energy consumption or waste - is the focus here.

Compressed air as a major source of energy costs
Working with compressed air is part of almost all industrial sectors. Here, unnoticed leaks as well as pressure drops and fluctuations are not rare cases.
The ifm compressed air meter of the SD series supports you in monitoring and determining your compressed air consumption. For example, the energy demand can be reduced sustainably without additional (personnel) costs. Thus, in the long term, the use of the compressed air meter not only leads to cost savings and the optimisation of operations, but also makes an important contribution to the sustainable use of resources.
Internet of Things (IoT) as key technology
The continuous monitoring of different machine parts, systems or process steps at different locations is part of everyday life of every company.
With the help of the software moneo and the condition monitoring (RTM) as well as the IO-Key (cloud connection) developed by ifm, installed sensors can be read out at any time and the data transmitted in real time. By retrieving the relevant information, plants can not only be monitored remotely - the data is also used for further processing and analysis, so that resource-efficient planning and processes can be designed more efficiently. Within the framework of moneo and the possibilities of the RTM as well as the IO-Key, significant contributions to sustainability can be found. Just-in-time maintenance, which can be carried out with the help of these technologies, for example, detects serious damage at an early stage and thus contributes to an optimised service life. Moreover, remote monitoring reduces unnecessary trips. In addition to a positive contribution to the environment (CO2 savings), in the long term the personnel effort as well as the (total) costs can be reduced.
