Upgrading a press with sensor technology
The acs automotive center was founded with the aim of working together on projects in order to bundle development capacities. ifm upgraded the press on site with sensor technology and also integrated their moneo software. In cooperation with ifm, a press monitoring system was established: a system that monitors various areas of the press.
ifm SmartStamp, which is part of this system, reacts within 2 milliseconds, making it possible to see - with very high resolution - exactly where there is a problem in the press, in the tools or in the material area, especially in the critical tool area. The recorded values are then transferred to the moneo software where they are analysed over the entire production time. The moneo data can be accessed from every single workstation and limit values can be defined so that an almost real-time response can be given if the limit values are exceeded. The acs automotive center would like to continue the cooperation in the future, emphasising both the flexibility of the moneo software and ifm’s expert support.
