Start of the Hannover Messe 2018

23/04/18

On 23 April 2018, the Hannover Messe opened its gates. From 23 to 27 April 2017, the ifm group of companies will be present in hall 9, stand D36.

Michael Marhofer and Volker Jahns explain the augmented reality exhibit to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy at that time and the delegation from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy at Hannover Messe 2017.

At 09:00 h, the Hannover Messe 2018 started - customers of the ifm group of companies can look forward to product innovations and a virtual factory in hall 9, stand D36.

Virtual factory at ifm's exhibition stand

Already last year the virtual factory delighted visitors as well as representatives from politics - the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy at that time, Brigitte Zypries, spent much time learning more about the factory. This year, ifm presents a machine for rim manufacture. Visitors can follow up the process from the aluminium block to the finished rim and see the 22 ifm sensors installed in action. The machine which is 6 m long, 3 m wide and about 2 m high can be seen through the smartphone camera on a 1:1 scale. It is animated and interactive.
As opposed to last year the virtual factory is no longer tied to a location. The 3D models can be presented at any location and therefore increase flexibility in discussions with customers.

Bike Challenge

Even the way to the fair grounds is highlighted in ifm orange - in order to attract viral attention, several orange bicycles were positioned at traffic junctions near the fair grounds. This was accompanied by posts on social media. As flashy foreign bodies, the ifm bicycles stand out in the townscape. This guerilla marketing activity is to attract maximum attention in the townscape and help ifm to distinguish themselves from their competitors.

One of the product highlights of the Hannover Messe 2018: the new Smart Valve sensor

What is our main purpose in life? It is to gain insight... Who, as a child, did not try to see if and at what precise moment the light goes out in the fridge? We can not support you at home, but we have developed a solution for your industrial valves. Our smart valve sensor digitizes the valve movement with the help of IO-Link.
