Smart Ports require smart and robust technologies
A smart container port depends on high-performance data and voice communication in all areas. Here, in the area of wireless transmission, there is no real alternative to the latest generation of mobile communications - the 5G technology.
Ericsson offers a wide range of 5G network variants tailored to different applications and scenarios. More autonomous vehicles require continuous monitoring, and service and order management in real time. Robust edge gateways from ifm "From the Sensor to the Cloud" in combination with 5G technology from Ericsson offer a finely scalable solution as private, public or hybrid infrastructure to make the combination of big data with artificial intelligence a reality.
In this web seminar, we will present three aspects as basic prerequisites for "smart ports", showing concrete applications at our customers.
works in business development & partnering for next generation smart manufacturing and ports technology in Ericsson’s global Dedicated Networks Unit, making the shift to 5G for industries happen. Over the last 20+ years, Jan has been working in various fields and positions at Ericsson, including services, media, open innovation, digital advertising and industry digitalization.
works as Business Development Manager for IoT, RTM and Software Solutions at the ifm group. Peter has 20+ years experience in container port applications. His professional path took him from robust and safe sensors for twist-lock control of spreaders via mobile controllers for heavy-duty applications to the reduction of wiring in spreaders. The latest technology aims at transmitting service and maintenance information via 5G mobile networks.
