MVQ, O2I and OGD win the award.
ifm is the winner of this year's iF DESIGN AWARD for three products: MVQ, OGD and O2I were all three awarded and are among the winners of the world-renowned design label.
The iF DESIGN AWARD is given once a year by the world's oldest independent design institution, iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover.
The three ifm products could convince the 78 international jury experts and won against many other competitors: The jurors had to select from 7,298 entries from 56 countries to award the coveted design label.

For 67 years the iF DESIGN AWARD is a world-renowned label when it comes to excellent design. As a symbol the iF label is internationally established for excellent design achievements. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design prizes worldwide. It awards design achievements in all disciplines: product, packaging, communication and service design, architecture and interior design as well as professional concept.
The smart valve sensor MVQ detects the position of a valve to the nearest degree and indicates it by an LED display which is visible from all sides. Even from a large distance this visual feedback allows simple identification of the valve condition. Moreover, setting different valve positions is possible without contact via an inductive sensing face on the top side of the sensor. The LED visually guides the user through the setting process.
The photoelectric position sensor OGD is used for quality control in industrial production systems. Even tiny objects are detected reliably thanks to the PMD time of flight technology, errors are detected within seconds.This guarantees a high degree of precision in the production process. Two clearly visible LEDs visualise the switch points. If a preset value is reached, the user receives optimum feedback via the LEDs. Its compact and robust design makes the sensor perfectly suited where space is at a premium or in harsh environments.
The O2I500 convinces with its reliable reading results even in the extremely difficult conditions of factory automation. It reads up to four different codes in milliseconds to transport workpieces to the right machine at the right time. This ensures efficient, high-quality production. It combines robustness, a compelling design and intuitive handling thanks to the one-button teach and the configuration app. The O2I500 sets new standards for setting up automatic production processes.
