How to solve the main challenges in tank applications

Tanks are used in almost every area of the food and beverage industry. For milk processing, in breweries and wineries or in the confectionary industry: We can see a lot of different tanks filled with all kinds of ingredients and cleaning fluids.

Not all food tanks are the same. The diversity in terms of form and area of application requires equally diverse technical, custom-fit solutions to support production at all times in terms of quality, availability and performance. In this webinar, we will introduce you to some of our solutions for food and beverage production that provide answers to three key challenges.

Challenge 1: Reliable level monitoring

Reliable level monitoring not only ensures continuous production - it also protects pumps from damage due to idling - and thus your plant from expensive downtimes. Our speaker will illustrate how the IO-Link level sensors allow you to monitor your tanks particularly precisely. He will also tell you which sensor is particularly suitable for protecting the pump from overfilling and running dry.

Challenge 2: Wet areas

The hygiene requirements that apply in the food industry call for automation solutions that can withstand the cleaning processes in a very stable manner. Find out how we take these high requirements into account in development and material selection. You will also learn how to use our comprehensive specific portfolio of sensors, connection technology and IO-Link masters with protection rating IP 68 /69K not only to reduce detours via control cabinets, but also significantly reduce downtimes.

Challenge 3: Tank maintenance and servicing

In order to avoid long, costly production downtimes, it is important to plan and carry out maintenance work on and in tanks as efficiently as possible. At the same time, the safety of your employee must not be lost sight of at any time. With our safety solutions, including for example the fail-safe inductive sensors you can be absolutely sure that your employees maintain the tank installations safely at all times.

The highlight of the webinar will be an interview with the multinational food company Danone. They provide an insight into how ifm helps them to improve the OEE of their tanks and reduce food losses (in production) and energy consumption.
