GIB SCM Award 2022

03/08/2022

ifm presents an award for outstanding supply chain projects to three companies

By Ariane Becker

The Siegen-based software manufacturer ifm, previously GIB, has once again presented the SCM Award for the implementation of outstanding supply chain projects at this year's SUCCESS DAYS. The proud 2022 award winners are Aenova Holding GmbH, BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH and Gigaset Communications GmbH.

Since 2008, SUCCESS DAYS has established itself as an important event in the logistics industry. This year, the SCM symposium took place under the motto "stabilize. balance. reimagine. More stability for your supply chain" took place for the first time as a hybrid event. From May 31 to June 1, interested parties had the opportunity to follow the event either via digital live stream or to be present on-site at the Apollo Theater in Siegen. Within the framework of specialist presentations, participants gained insights into the current challenges in supply chain management and were able to discuss possible solutions with experts.

A special highlight of the conference was the presentation of the SCM Awards, which have been an integral part of SUCCESS DAYS since 2012. The award is given to companies that use ifm software to a particular extent to increase their profits, reduce inventories and achieve an improvement in delivery accuracy. In 2022, no less than three companies were pleased to receive the coveted trophy.

Aenova Holding GmbH is pleased about the award

Aenova Holding GmbH from Starnberg in southern Germany is one of the world's leading contract manufacturers and development service providers for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. As a successor system for SAP APO, GIB Planning was implemented at the three locations Münster, Wolfratshausen and Latina (Italy) in September 2020.

The GIB Operations module has also been in use for six months. The largest Aenova site in Tittmoning followed on July 1, 2022.

BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau reduces inventories massively

BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH can also be pleased about an award. The world market leader in the field of corrugators from Weiherhammer in southern Germany has been using GIB Controlling since 2019. From then on, stock-outs (at times up to 96 per cent) and deadstock (by approximately 27 per cent) could be significantly reduced, because, with the new logic of the GIB Suite, global disposition rules are used for all plants. This brings effectiveness, acceleration and transparency. The project team of BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH has optimized inventories to such an extent with the help of ifm software that it was worthy of an SCM AWARD in the eyes of the jury.

Gigaset Communications GmbH provides the impetus for further development

Since Gigaset Communications GmbH played a decisive role in helping to expand GIB Operations both professionally and technically, Andreas Tourneur, Vice President of Order Center at Gigaset, was also able to accept an award. Gigaset decided to switch to SAP S/4HANA more than three years ago, taking the path to the SAP Public Cloud. Because SAP did not allow any extensions at that time, the new cloud solution MRP view XLNce was developed for Gigaset. It allows the German communications product manufacturer to still use features from GIB Operations in the cloud, but will also be available to other customers in the SAP Store in the near future.

Award ceremony at SUCCESS DAYS

Bilgin Kilic, Head of Department Direct Sales GIB S&D GmbH, and Björn Dunkel, Managing Director ifm business solutions gmbh, performed the ceremonial presentation on the big stage of the Apollo Theater in Siegen as part of SUCCESS DAYS 2022. The companies honoured this year thus join an already extensive list of extremely renowned winners, including Airbus, Continental, Krone, Krombacher, and Kambly, among others. These and other companies have shown how successfully SAP-based supply chain processes can be designed with ifm solutions.
