ifm spotted: ifm products discovered during the demolition of Building 9

05/11/2021

Building 9 at the Bechlingen site in Tettnang has been torn down, and the construction of the new building begins. After 60 years, the old warehouse building has been left in order to refurbish the space for more efficient use.

In Spring 2023, the project will be finished. Up until then, an office complex with 130 new workplaces and a large logistics hall with space for around 4,400 pallet spaces stored in automated mobile racks will be built here. The new logistics centre will focus on the direct supply of ifm's key accounts and serve as a supplement to the central warehouse in Essen. During the demolition, ifm colleagues Arnold Roth and Alexander Zimmermann made an exciting find.

Lämmle Recycling GmbH provided active support in the demolition of the building. A large wheel loader and a hydraulic excavator were present - actually, nothing unusual on a construction site. But, a closer look was rewarding: In both construction vehicles, the eye-catching orange of our ifm products did its job and drew the attention of the ifm colleagues to a couple of ecolink connectors.

The wheel loader is a product of the Hitachi company. The company itself promotes it as "one of the quietest available in the market". In addition to demolition projects, the construction vehicle is used in forestry, mining and quarries.

CAT's 336 hydraulic excavator claims to be one of the most powerful models in the industry. CAT technologies provide increased working efficiency as well as reduced operating costs and fuel consumption.
