ifm awarded environmental management certifications

The ifm group of companies has once again been awarded key environmental management certifications, reaffirming its high standards in sustainability. In Germany, the environmental management system has been successfully validated in accordance with the stringent requirements of the European EMAS Regulation (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and ISO 14001. At the same time, the Romanian production sites ifm efector s.r.l. and ifm prover s.r.l. have been certified to ISO 14001.

For ifm, sustainability is not a one-off project, but part of our corporate responsibility and our daily decision-making. The current certifications confirm that we implement environmental and resource protection consistently and effectively at an international level.

The EMAS Regulation is based on the international environmental management standard ISO 14001 and goes significantly further by imposing additional transparency and reporting requirements. By publishing a comprehensive environmental statement, ifm once again meets the high requirements of the European environmental management system.

In addition, the ifm prover s.r.l. production facility in Sibiu, which opened in 2023, has been awarded a Gold certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) as a “sustainable production facility”.

As part of extensive audits, independent auditors reviewed environmental standards and processes at various ifm sites. Particular mention was made of the company’s well-established environmental and risk management systems, its consistent use of digital tools for process control, and the high quality and organisation of its production and building structures.

The continuous improvement process in the area of environmental performance was also explicitly praised. The auditors confirmed that the ifm group’s environmental management system is highly effective and firmly embedded in day-to-day business operations.

The ifm efector s.r.l. and ifm prover s.r.l. sites in Sibiu received a positive assessment with no reservations. Particular mention was made of the strong commitment shown by local management and the close integration of quality, environmental and sustainability issues into production processes.
