Team spirit means shared work and shared success

ifm supports the race driver Tim Zimmermann

The ifm group of companies has been supporting twenty-year-old race driver Tim Zimmermann since 2013 and will continue this partnership throughout the 2019 racing season. Their mutual support has grown over the years. Today, ifm is Zimmermann's biggest and most loyal partner. "I am very grateful for it, and this is not just an empty phrase. Without partners, sportsmen do not stand a chance. This is particularly true for race drivers," says Tim Zimmermann.Tim Zimmermann, the "ifm race driver", was eight years old when he sat in a kart for the first time in his life. When he was twenty-one, he made his international debut with the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Asian LMP3 series. In the years between, Tim Zimmermann experienced the ups and downs of a motorsport racer. He participated in the Kart World Championship, was the best young driver in the ADAC Formel Masters and took his first steps in touring car racing in the ADAC TCR Germany. His ambition and willpower helped him to develop from a formula racing "rookie" into a race driver participating in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

Parallels to ifm
"It is great to see how he became more and more professional and how his international success is now growing as well. This reminds me of the development of the ifm group of companies: from small "garage company" to an internationally successful group," says Martin Buck, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ifm group.

Tim Zimmermann knew from the very beginning that such a partnership is not a one-way street. He made videos with ifm, brought his racing cars to the company, took the trainees to the Red Bull Ring race weekend, gave lectures to the employees and made his race simulator available on various occasions.

This year, the ifm group of companies is celebrating its 50th anniversary, which is why the ifm race driver has the number 50 on his racing car during the current season of the Porsche Carrera Cup. "People at the races no longer talk about the 'Black Falcon', but about the 'ifm Porsche'. This, too, clearly shows that we make a great team," says Zimmermann.

Team spirit leads to success
Martin Buck sees parallels between ifm's and Tim Zimmermann's success stories. "To see the passion with which the whole team is working and striving is overwhelming," says Martin Buck, visibly impressed. "Team spirit and joint efforts for joint success – this has been ifm's recipe for success for years. Now you can see this principle in action on the race track."

"Maybe this anniversary year will also bring Tim his biggest success so far," says Martin Buck, thinking of the Carrera Cup Season that will also celebrate an anniversary in 2019 since, this year, it is taking place for the 30th time. A double success would perfectly suit this year's double anniversary."
