At ifm, we supported Mammen Mejerierne in optimising their cheese production by integrating IO-Link sensors for dairy automation. This led to increased plant availability, improved hygiene, and enhanced process reliability. With production facilities dedicated to blue, yellow and white cheeses, the company must meet strict customer requirements and certifications that demand consistently high-quality products.

To help achieve these goals, we collaborated closely with El-tek Automation to implement robust, IP69K-rated sensors that are specifically designed for hygienic applications in the food industry. Our IO-Link technology enables seamless communication between sensors and PLCs, providing real-time data from the production environment. This data can be used to monitor equipment conditions, simplify diagnostics and enable predictive maintenance, all of which help to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of the system.

By using IO-Link sensors for dairy automation, Mammen Mejerierne is well equipped to maintain its high standards while ensuring that production is flexible and ready for the future.
