Read and Write Parameters inside Moneo Configure

Transcript:

Hi, and welcome to this Tech Insights video. My name is Mary and I'm an application engineer here at ifm efector. In today's video, we're going to go over how to read and write parameters to your IO link device in the moneo configure software.

So let's get started. In a previous video, we showed you how to utilize the network scan button in order to connect to your IO link device.

So in this video we have already started out by connecting to our AL1322 IO link master and you can see that the TA2603 temperature sensor is connected on port one. So now I'm going to show you how to click on the part number of the sensor that you want to change the parameters to.

If I click on TA2603, it will begin to populate the parameters that you can change for this sensor.

First, you will see the identification of this sensor, such as the part number vendor ID and device I.D., serial number and description of the sensor. If you scroll further down, you can see different parameters that you can change, such as the output configuration, the analog scaling.

And then there is diagnostic information for this sensor as well. So in the bottom right hand corner, you can see the write to device button.

So if you make any changes to these parameters, such as if you change the units from Fahrenheit to Celsius, which I will do now, and if you change the analog scaling from -17.8 to 0 and 148.9 for the analog end point to 100 degrees Celsius. So I'm now changing the 4 to 20 milliamps, scaling to 0 to 100 degrees Celsius.

And if I invert the analog scaling after you make any of these changes, you will then go to the right to device button and you will click on it and it will begin to write these changes to the sensor.

And when it is completed, it will let you know that the parameters have success been written to the device.

So if you want to change any parameters, you can make those changes and then click write to device. Another feature in the manual, configure software is the cockpit view.

So in the top right hand corner, you can see this gauge icon and if you click on it, it'll open a window which will show you the real time values of the sensor that you are monitoring.

So the to TA2603 is currently reading a temperature of about 84 degrees Fahrenheit. And if that were to change, you would see it on this graph. There are also event codes in the cockpit view that you can monitor if there are any faults or anything like that.

And then there the biggest feature of the manual configure software is that you can see the PLC mapping for any IO link device.

So here if you click on process data structure, you can then see how the temperature data is mapped going through an IO link master into your PLC. So there you have it. That concludes this Tech Insights video on how to read and write parameters to your IO link device in them and moneo configure software.
