Wind turbine with gearbox

Wind energy is a very important element in the context of renewable energies. Modern wind turbines are often found in onshore or offshore applications. Wind turbines with gearbox are equipped with a conventional power train. The mostly three-phase planetary gear increases the rpm of the rotor to the nominal rpm required by the generator so that it can generate current. Sensors from ifm give feedback to the controller also called PLC of the wind turbine and help ensure reliable operation without unexpected downtimes.
