Communication Central: ifm's Ethernet Hub Networks Mobile Controls
As demand grows for mobile access to IP communication, ifm's Ethernet Switch EC2095 provides a networking solution for vehicles operating in extreme conditions. The unmanaged switch allows for the interconnection of multiple mobile devices over Ethernet. The robust, hardened steel housing protects the electronics from temperature extremes, dust and dirt, corrosion, power surges and electromagnetic interference.
The compact, plug-and-play Ethernet Switch ensures high data throughput during operation. The switch has five 10/100 BASETX ports with D-coded M12 connections that enable a setup of multiple Ethernet networks to the standard IEEE 802.3 (10BaseT) or fast Ethernet networks to the standard 802.3u (100BASETX). The housing features bright status LEDs that indicate operating status and supply voltage.
The Ethernet Switch incorporates an auto-sensing function that allows the ports to detect transmission speed and capacity of all connections and to configure them automatically. All ports support full and half duplex operation.
An auto-crossing function creates the advantage of point-to-point wiring without the need for Ethernet cables for crossed wires. This function also prevents malfunctions due to reversed transmit and receive wires.
The Ethernet Switch can be used in complex and large network architectures and supports up to 2000 MAC addresses.
