Inductive sensors

The intelligent inductive proximity switches can be directly connected to the yellow AS-i cable via two-pole flat cable insulation displacement connectors. Depending on the version up to 62 sensors can be connected to one cable. The current is also supplied via the bus cable. In addition to the switching status further diagnostic bits are provided.

Pressure sensors

The AS-i pressure sensors transmit the measured pressures as 16-bit analogue value with sign. Since the value is only converted once, that is in the sensor, inaccurate calculation is avoided during further (digital) transmission via the bus as well as during the plc processing. The units function with the standard AS-i profile S-7.3 which can be processed by every M3 master.

Temperature sensors

As regards the data transfer, the functioning of the AS-i temperature sensors is the same as that of the pressure sensors. The analogue values are directly transferred in the unit (e.g. °C). This considerably facilitates subsequent set-up since the physical value is directly provided in the plc without conversion.
