Repeater

In a standard AS-i network, repeaters are not required up to a total cable length of 100 meters. They are used
a) to increase the length by a further 100 meters or
b) to galvanically separate several partial lines or
c) in case of increased current consumption, e.g. due to many loads.
Bus termination

An AS-interface network is usually open at the end, i.e. operated without bus termination. Often, more than one hundred meters of bus cable are laid inadvertently, which may lead to disturbed communication. To eliminate possible reflections on the cable, there is the AS-i bus terminator. Using the bus terminator the network can often be increased to up to 200 meters.
AS-i tuner

The AS-i tuner functions similarly to the bus terminator. It constitutes a bus terminator which is, however, not fixed but variably adjusted to the existing network via a microprocessor in the best possible way. This "tuning function" can be re-activated in case of changes or extensions to the network. Depending on the topology, up to 200 meters of AS-i bus length can be obtained.
AS-i tester

The latest version of the eAS-i tester has diagnostic "traffic light" LEDs (red/yellow/green) to indicate the current status of the message quality. It is conveniently connected in parallel to the yellow cable. By means of the enclosed PC software acute errors, e.g. caused by EMC, can be detected and recorded. For purposes of preventive maintenance, a detailed network diagnosis can be carried out, also for Safety at Work participants.
