Pressure monitoring of production cooling water
Requirement
A fast-acting and clearly readable pressure measurement is to be implemented in the cooling water circuit of the central refrigeration supply. It is to have a high protection class, in order to withstand possible water leaks. The switching signals are to directly control the pump, without interconnection to the building services control system.
Implementation
The ifm pressure sensors of the PN series indicate the measured value directly on site on clearly readable 7-segment displays. The high protection class IP 67 protects against unintentional splash water, without affecting the function. The process pressure of the cooling water circuit for the injection moulding machines is detected via the sensors. The standardised analogue output signals are directly linked to the inputs of the pump control.
Customer benefits
A precise pump control is achieved due to the very fast and precise detection of the pressure change. On-site pump control is possible even if the higher-level building control fails, furthermore the building control system is relieved. Moreover, the remote function via the building control system is maintained. In comparison to the previous analogue pressure indication, the red-lit 7-segment LED display now ensures better readability.
