ifm’s PG Series Transmitter Wins Design News' 2010 Best Product of the Year - Finalist
ifm efector's PG Series Transmitter was named a finalist in Design News' 2010 "Golden Mousetrap" Awards in the sensors and vision category. Design News is a leading technical publication and resource for design engineers. Their annual award recognizes engineering innovation and creativity in product design.
The PG Pressure Transmitter combines the best features of a gauge, a switch and a transmitter. The transmitter is mounted in-line to provide quick, highly visible indication of process conditions for sanitary and industrial automation applications. The flush mount, stainless steel design offers high precision (0.2%) indication of pressure values.
The transmitter's gauge display indicates the current operating pressure relative to the overall range of the unit. A quick reference pointer aids in visual indication and does not require damping liquid. The pointer is driven by an integrated stepper motor that eliminates the typical shaking that occurs with mechanical pointers.
Two optical pushbuttons establish application parameters, setpoint and resetpoint. Touch-screen surface eliminates pushbutton cavities and prevents liquid ingress. A numeric display indicates system pressure and set-up menu items such as analog scaling, display units, switch point.
Long-term stability and excellent overload protection is achieved through the transmitter’s ceramic cell sensing technology.
