Since 29 October 2009 it has been official: For four decades ifm electronic has developed and produced sensors, evaluation and control systems in Germany. ifm has been growing slowly but constantly according to its philosophy "Growing successfully in security". Starting with one sensor, one Swabian and one Westphalian, a company with more than 7000 units, 70 branch offices all over the world and more than 3000 employees has resulted. The secret of the success: Cater for the customers' needs and offer them high-quality products at a fair price - made in Germany.
The anniversary coincides with moving to the new corporate headquarters in Essen. Until the end of December 2009 350 employees will move to the completely restored Glückaufhaus in Friedrichstraße 1 step by step.
For 10 years the historic house on the outskirts of Essen City has been empty. In cooperation with contractors and project developers ifm has succeeded in bringing the battered building back to life after only 18 months of construction. Behind the listed historic facade modern meets history. Today a completely new office building with flexible room layouts and innovative communication and building technology welcomes the visitor.
