Cold rolling mill

In the cold rolling mill the hot-rolled strip is reduced to the requested thickness at room temperature, slit or cut to length and rewound into coils. This cold-rolled strip steel is frequently used within the automotive industry, by automotive suppliers, in metal processing and in the electrical industry.
A cold rolling mill consists of different plants and machines. First, the scale that has formed on the hot strip is rinsed in the continuous pickling line. The coils are then pre-rolled and annealed in a bell-type annealing furnace. In the skin-pass mill, the cold strip obtains the desired final mechanical and technological properties. In the slitting line, the strip is slit or cut to length fully automatically, before being packaged and prepared for shipping in the strapping line.
